Aglier: Tree-Climbing Fruit-Harvesting Robot

Aglier is a robot that climbs trees and harvests fruit, deciding through a tiered edge–cloud architecture with an asynchronous narrative layer on top. I am its sole inventor and I'm drafting the patent specification, so this page stays high-level.

Problem

Harvesting fruit from tall trees is slow, physical work. Aglier explores whether a robot can climb a tree and pick ripe fruit on its own.

Approach

  • A force-adaptive, lizard-inspired design for climbing tree trunks.
  • AI-based identification of ripe fruit to decide what to pick.
  • Decisions made through a tiered edge–cloud architecture.
  • An onboard GBNI subsystem forms an asynchronous narrative layer: it summarises harvest activity from batch records and never controls the real-time harvest cycle.
